A tragedy has shaken Phursungi. The Pune police are investigating the murder of 24-year-old Hundekar Wasti resident Swapnali Pawar, who was found dead in her bed compartment.
Umesh Pawar, Swapnali’s husband, who is a taxi driver, left home early on 7 November to work in Beed district. When he returned the next evening, he found the front door smashed and the room untidy. Fearing for his wife, he searched but found nothing. Umesh found her body in her bed.
Umesh called the police, who responded quickly. Initial investigations revealed that Swapnali had been strangled to death. Officers from the Fursungi police station are investigating the matter.
Police have not yet identified the killer. They are also investigating possible motives, including a frequent house call. Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence to solve this horrific crime that took place on 7- 8 November.
Local residents are disturbed by this incident and are demanding swift justice.
