Pune, 11Dec 2024 Sadly, two women in Pune have committed suicide due to abuse by their husbands. Police have started investigations in both cases.
In Sant Nagar, Lohgaon, 26-year-old Nayana Prakash Maghade committed suicide. Her brother Jay Kharat complained to the police station at the airport that Nayana’s husband Prakash was forcing her to bring money from her family. Nayana, who has been married for four years, has reportedly resigned due to the harassment. A police complaint has been filed against her husband.
Secondly, 36-year-old Kondhwa Ashwini Rahul Mane committed suicide. Her mother accused Rahul Mane, Ashwini’s son-in-law, and another relative of abusing her. Rahul accused Ashwini of lacking character and physically abused her. As a result of the abuse, Ashwini committed suicide. The Condhwa police station is investigating Rahul and the female relative.
Both cases show that domestic violence, a major problem, affects many lives. The law enforcement agencies are investigating cases of domestic violence to raise awareness and intervene.
Authorities remind abuse victims that help is available.
