Chandrabhan Punamchand Bhansali, a 104-year-old citizen from Pune, showed his strong support for democracy by voting at home. He encouraged everyone to vote and strengthen democracy.
Bhansali participated in the elections through home voting. This service allows senior citizens and disabled voters to vote from their homes. It started in the Parvati constituency under the supervision of Election Returning Officer Manoj Kumar Khairnar.
Special teams are assigned to help those who need home voting. These teams visit the homes of registered voters. They make sure that everyone who needs assistance can cast their vote easily.
A team visited Bhansali’s home to help him vote. The voting took place in front of Assistant Election Returning Officer Venkatesh Durwas and Naib Tehsildar Sarita Patil, along with Bhansali’s team.
In addition to Bhansali, another senior citizen, Pandharinath Shivram Ingwale, who is 100 years old, also voted at home in the Khed-Alandi Assembly Constituency.
Prabhakar Kulkarni, aged 95, participated in the voting process through home voting as well. These actions show how older citizens are engaging in the democratic process.
Dr. Suhas Diwase reminded everyone involved in the election not to use mobile phones or any electronic devices at polling places. This rule applies to employees, candidates, and voters.
Taking photos or videos during the election is also not allowed. Those who break these rules will face strict punishment.
These voting initiatives show that democracy is for everyone, no matter their age or ability. It highlights the importance of participation in elections for a healthy democracy.
