The Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra wants a report from Parbhani officials about statements made by Maulana Khalil-Ur Rahman Sajjad Nomani. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya complained about Nomani, who represents AIMPLB.

The letter, issued on November 16, instructs officials to follow Election Commission of India guidelines. The complaint requires action within 24 hours.

Parbhani district collector Raghunath Gawade confirmed receiving the letter. The case has been referred to the Model Code of Conduct cell for investigation.

The controversy began with a video of Nomani making divisive remarks circulating on social media. BJP leaders condemned the comments and urged the ECI to ensure fair elections.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized Nomani for promoting ‘vote jihad.’ Fadnavis accused the opposition of using divisive tactics for votes.

The case has sparked political debates as election campaigns intensify in Maharashtra. Both sides are arguing over communal issues and election ethics.
