Amid the presence of the NCP nominee in Purandar, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has declared Vijay Shivtare as the official candidate of the Mahayuti alliance, ending speculation.

In the upcoming assembly poll, Purandar will witness a friendly contest between candidates from the Mahayuti alliance. NCP’s Sambhaji Zende will compete against Shiv Sena’s Vijay Shivtare.

The MVA has nominated sitting Congress legislator Sanjay Jagtap for a second term. CM Shinde, during a rally, declared Shivtare as the official candidate of the Mahayuti alliance.

Shivtare has focused on Purandar’s development, despite not being the sitting MLA. The absence of rallies from senior leaders has caused confusion among voters in Purandar.

The government plans to develop a logistic hub in Purandar with a budget allocation of ₹2,500 crore. The airport in Purandar will benefit villages and create job opportunities.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar cancelled a campaign rally for NCP candidate Sambhaji Zende last week.
