A seven-year-old boy named Vansh Singh was killed in an attack just 1.5 kilometers from the previous incident in the same village.
A four-year-old boy named Shivtej Samadhan Tembhekar died in a leopard attack in a village in Pune district. This is the eighth human death due to leopard attacks since March this year.
The attack happened just one and a half kilometers away from a previous attack site in the same village. The forest department confirmed the death and followed all procedures.
Shivtej was playing in front of his house near a sugarcane field when the leopard attacked him. His grandfather tried to save him, but the leopard dragged Shivtej into the field.
The forest officials confirmed the presence of the leopard and sent the body for post mortem. Villagers were upset with the delayed response by the forest officials.
The forest department launched a search operation and installed cages and cameras to track leopard activities. The villagers believe the absence of electricity in the area is a major reason for the attacks.
Despite efforts by the forest department, no leopards have been captured in the cages installed. The focus is now on capturing the leopards responsible for the attacks.
